Review
Those who a die- heart fans of this Universe knows very how previous movies of the universe has sets a high- standards by offering a combo of laughter with scare that is combo is here too but at the same time it is not laugh riot Comedy scenes come and go. There are comedy scenes that brings a smile on audience face But compared to Stree and Munjya, its jokes seem a bit sub-standard works in sometimes in the movie . So the comedy of the movie should better and coming to horror. There is horror creates some jump scares not that impactful it should be. Movie follows a simple track which is a bit predictable because loses its grip many times so due to which a movie looks a bit starchy.
Direction
and Other Aspects
Direction by
Aditya Sarpodhar is decent
but not met my expectations especially after seen Munjya. The idea of vampires
may look promising on paper but the execution was quite average as the way he presented
Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Vampire looks a bit kiddish along the element of horror
and comedy also doesn’t meet the expectations. Actually the two main elements, comedy and horror, are
very less. Coming to other aspects. According of Wikipedia the budget of Thama
is 145 Crores but it doesn’t look like a 145 Crores
Anyway, if
we look at the history of MCU, the budget of their films is not very high, so
it is a bit difficult to believe that the budget of Thama is 145 crores.movie but
it doesn’t mean the movie looks cheap from any angle The visuals shine on the big screen. Considerable
attention on the VFX has also been paid to. Cinematography is also deserves a mention as the movie shot
nicely that enhances every scene of the movie. The scene in Taarka saves Alok
is shot beautifully and was enjoyable experience on the other side. Background score is also decent and supports
the movie. Action is limited but used according to the requirement of movie.
Acting Performance
The movie
had a bunch of talented actors starting from Ayushman Khurana delivered a
sincere performance in his role of a vampire as he looked very natural in the
movie. Undoubtably he picked from where he left in Pre Covid era with delivering
another flowless performance. As a female lead Rashimka Mandana was also done
her work sincerely and her chemistry with Ayushman Khurana was also decent on
the big-screen. But the biggest disappointment for me was Nawazuddin Siddiqui who
was looking like a caricaturise rather than a vampire. His performance was decent
but the director a missed a big trick in his presentation. Paresh Rawal played
role of Alok’s father also impressive his acting as he had one or two funny one-liners
brings some smile on audience face. Cameos from Varun Dhawan and Satyaraj were
impactful as played an important role in connecting Thama from Bhediya and
Munjya
Conclusion
To Summarize.
Thama is an average movie with sincere performance by Ayushman Khurrana and connection
with M,C,U were some of the best parts of
the movie. Vise a Varsa presentation of Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a carry categorise
was the biggest drawback of the movie
