Heart –Breaking news has come from the world of Bollywood. Veteran Actor Satish Shah passed away at the age of 74 in Mumbai after brief illness. Born on 25 June 1951 in Mumbai (Maharashtra). Satish Shah believed to be the India’s best comic actor known for its comic timing, expressive face, and make ability to audience laugh across generations.

The actor worked in over 250 films and shows in his career of 4 decodes leaving a legacy filled with laugh, warmth and laughter.

 

Ye Jo Hain Zindagi

1 Ye Jo Hain Zindagi -  The 1984 show that made Satish Shah a Household name. He played a new character in every episode proving his unmatched versatility and comic brilliance. Even today “Ye Jo Hain Zindagi” remains a benchmark in Indian Television.

  • Before becoming an actor, Satish Shah wanted to be a filmmaker and studied at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, alongside legends like Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi.
  • He appeared in over 250 films and television shows, and even worked as a voice artist in ads and radio before his on-screen fame.
  • Satish Shah is among the few actors who worked with all three Khans — Salman (Hum Aapke Hain Koun), Shah Rukh (Main Hoon Na), and Aamir (Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa).
  • In the classic sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, he played 55 different characters in one season — an unmatched record in Indian TV history.
  • In the cult film Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, he became the only actor to “die twice” in the same movie, as his dead character D’Mello appeared in several scenes even after death.
  • He initially refused the role of Indravadan Sarabhai in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai due to scheduling issues, but the makers waited for him, believing only he could do justice to the role.
  • Satish Shah was a huge sports lover, often attending cricket and football matches and playing in celebrity cricket events during the 1980s and 1990s.
